I can teach virtual lessons via Zoom to anyone, anywhere. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a laptop or similar device. I also recommend investing in a good quality pair of headphones and a microphone but it isn’t required.

In-Person

In-person lessons are now available to students in the Greater Sudbury area and North bay. I will gladly travel to you to teach lessons in your own home. I am happy to mask up and maintain social distancing if you’d prefer.

Rates

Rates start at $25/half hour or $50/hour. In person rates may be subject to change based on location.

The Teacher

Max Moote

About Me

I have been deeply involved in music for 15 years, I started learning guitar at age 8 and quickly started picking up many other instruments. I started teaching 4 years ago, working with students of all ages and abilities on a variety of different instruments and I have thoroughly enjoyed every lesson. I readily offer lessons for Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Bass, Piano, French horn and Trumpet but don’t be afraid to ask if I can teach something that isn’t listed here. I love to focus on music theory to help you learn the universal musical language that can be applied to any instrument and genre.

Credentials

I graduated from Laurentian University with a B.A. Specialization in Music Performance with honours in 2020 and I am currently enrolled in a B.Ed. at Nipissing University. I am on track to be a High School Music and Physics teacher in the fall of 2024. As I mentioned above, I have been teaching private lessons for 4 years now. I have performed (French Horn) with the Sudbury Symphony, Parry Sound Symphony and Timmons Symphony Orchestras. In the last 6 years, I’ve played guitar in a couple of local bands, mostly alternative rock, and I am currently playing several different instruments in the indie/folk band “The Rascabells”.
